Indonesian Student Association in Sweden (PPI Swedia)
Statutes
Preamble
With the grace of Almighty God, we, Indonesian students in Sweden who are aware of our rights and obligations to devote our knowledge in developing the nation’s intellectual life in order to achieve a just and prosperous society based on Pancasila and UUD 1945, gather ourselves in an association with statutes as follows:
Article 1
Name, Location and Element
1. Name: Indonesian Student Association in Sweden (abbreviated as PPI Swedia)
2. Location: Sweden
3. Element: PPI Sweden is an assembly of PPIs in Sweden’s regional level (the definition of regional will be defined in Bylaws)
Article 2
Logo
1. The meaning of PPI Swedia’s logo:
1.1.PPI Swedia’s logo consists of:
1.1.1. PPI letter which intersect each other
1.1.2. Indonesian and Swedish flag which also intersect each other.
1.2. The intersection of PPI’s letters represents the relationship among members of PPI Swedia.
1.3. The logo of Indonesian and Swedish flag which intersect represents the linkage between the two countries.
1.4. The absence of angle in PPI Swedia’s logo symbolizes the dynamic relationship between
the characters in it.

The details of change in PPI Swedia’s logo is explained in Bylaws article 2

Vision
- The realization of self-development tool for its members to be critical, outstanding, creative, responsible along with social concern.
- A respectable relationship between Indonesian students in Sweden, Indonesian embassy in Sweden, local society and students from around the world.
3. The socialization of Indonesian culture in Sweden.
Article 5
Mission
- Develop PPI Swedia as a forum to facilitate the aspirations and developments of its members
- Strengthen the relationships between members, the Indonesian embassy in Sweden, local society and students around the world
- Conduct activities which aim to explore members’ capability in each region
- Introduce the achievement of Indonesian student and actively participate in international activities
- Introduce Indonesian culture to the local community
- Increase the concern for the nation and state of Indonesia
Article 6
PPI Swedia Organizational Structure
The board of PPI Swedia consists of State Coordinator, Regional Coordinators, treasurer and secretary will be described further in Bylaws article 6.
Article 7
Indonesian student association in each region
1. Indonesian student association in each region is a place for their local members’ activities which are regional Indonesian students and regulated in Bylaws.
2. Indonesian student association in each region owns the authority to conduct the
activities independently along with good coordination with State Coordinator of PPI Swedia.
Article 8
Membership

Membership will immediately take effect after the prospective members filled
the form/ agreed on the rules applied between the members in mailing list of PPI Swedia. - Member is a citizen of Indonesia and enrolled in education institutions in Sweden.
- Terms of membership are students who have received Letter of Acceptance (LOA) of educational institutions in Sweden and or have become a student in Sweden.
- Membership expires after the student no longer enrolled at the education institution in Sweden and or the student withdrew.
- Rights of Members of PPI Swedia.
5.1 Members are entitled to express their opinions in member’s meetings.
5.2 Members are entitled to vote and be elected as a board.
5.3 Members are entitled to participate in any activities.
- Obligations of Members of PPI Swedia.
6.1 Members are obliged to respect and obey the Statutes and Bylaws.
6.2 Members are obliged to maintain the organization’s reputation
Article 9
Openness
PPI Swedia is open to every Indonesian student who is studying in Sweden. This organization and its members shall not discriminate against any individual(s) for reasons of age, color, disability, gender identity or expression, race, sex, or religious belief.
Article 10
Amendment of Statutes and Bylaws
- Changes in the Statutes and Bylaws are made possible through the meeting between the Regional Coordinators with State Coordinator
- Draft Amendment Statutes and Bylaws formulated and approved by all Regional Coordinators and Central Coordinator based on agreement result in the coordination meetingin each region

Draft Statutes and Bylaws will be incorporated into PPI Swedia’s mailing list within 1 (one)
week after agreed by Regional Coordinators and State Coordinator -
After the period of one week is over, all decisions about Statutes and Bylaws which has been
mutually agreed will be established. - The stages of change in Statutes and Bylaws will be described in Bylaws.
Article 11
Closure
1. All Statutes of PPI Swedia which previously established are no longer valid since the enactment of this Statutes.
2. Aspects which are not listed and has not been regulated by Statutes, will be regulated in Bylaws

Name, Location and Element

Article 2
Change in PPI Swedia’s logo
1. State Coordinator assisted by Regional Coordinators is responsible for the change of PPI Swedia’s logo
2. Before being established as PPI Swedia’s logo, logo’s candidates must be communicated to PPI Swedia’s members via PPI Swedia’s mailing list
3. The process of changes in PPI Swedia’s logo as described above is entirely assignedby State Coordinator and Regional Coordinators.
Article 3
Foundation
Based on Pancasila which is the basis of the ideal organization and rooted on UUD 45 as a legal basis, animated by the spirit and sense of responsibility for advancing the nation of Indonesia.

Article 6
PPI Swedia Organizational Structure
- Duties and authority of State Coordinator
1.1 State Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all PPI Swedia’s activities throughout the PPI Swedia’s region.
1.2 State coordinator is the main contact person to represent PPI Swedia to communicate with external parties.
1.3 State coordinator appoints treasurer and secretary to run the activities of PPI Swedia. State coordinator together with treasurer sign for the association each individually in bank, post office, and in relation to the Government of Indonesia and Sweden.
2. Duties and authority of Regional Coordinator
Regional Coordinator is responsible for accommodating the aspirations of members of PPI Swedia in their regions and conducting the activities of PPI Swedia in their regions.
3. Duties and authority of Tresurer
The task of treasures is to assists State Coordinator organizing the financial asset of PPI Swedia.
4. Duties and authority of Secretary
The task of secretary is to assist State Coordinator in organizing the administration, documentation and publication of PPI Swedia.
5. Election of State Coordinator
5.1. The State Coordinator PPI Swedia is elected for a term of 6 months for maximum 2 periods.
5.2. The State Coordinator will still be a student in Sweden for at least the next 6 months since the time of the election.
5.3. The State Coordinator is elected by the members of PPI Swedia.
5.4. Election of the State Coordinator is carried out by an independent Board of Election taken from member of PPI Swedia.
5.5. The election of State Coordinator is held in Autumn and Spring every year.
5.6 The State Coordinator can order resignation from his duties if there are acceptable reasoning and approved by more than half of the regional coordinators. The election of new state coordinator will be decided in a board meeting by regional coordinators
6. Election of Regional Coordinator
6.1. Regional Coordinator is elected for a term of one-quarter (3 months) for maximum 4 periods.
6.2. Regional Coordinator will still be a student in Sweden for at least the next 3 months since the time of the election.
6.3. Regional Coordinator is elected based on consensus by all PPI Swedia’ members in each region.
Article 7
Regional Scope
1. Region refers to the shelter of PPI Swedia which is dynamic and flexible based on the number of students and regulated by Regional Coordinator.
2. Regional PPI is formed by initiative from each region which has at least 4 student members and approved in the coordination meeting of Regional coordinator and State Coordinator.
3. PPI Swedia consists of a combination of the Regional PPI and chaired by the State Coordinator.

Openness
All members should be able to participate in the activities of PPI Swedia regardless of age, color, disability, gender identity or expression, race, sex, or religious belief.
Article 10
Amendment of Articles of Association and Bylaws
Stages carried out in accordance with the number’s sequence
1. Statutes and Bylaws are formulated by all Regional Coordinator and State Coordinator.
2. Draft formulation of Statutes and Bylaws are discussed in internal coordination meetings in each region.
3. Proposals from each region are discussed again by Regional Coordinator and State Coordinator.
4. Then the results are incorporated into mailing list for 1 week, no later than 1 week after the meeting.
Stages of the number 4 can only be done if consensus is reached at stage number 3. If not, then returned to the stage number 1.
5. After 1 week, if there are no changes then the draft of Statutes and Bylaws will be established.
6. If there are changes, such changes will be discussed again by all Regional Coordinators and State Coordinator back to stage number 1.
Article 11
Additional Regulations
1. Coordination meeting of all Regional Coordinators and State Coordinator is held at least once a month.
2. All decisions made in PPI Swedia are based on consensus.
3. When consensus is not achieved then voting could be applied.
4. As the number of Indonesian students in Sweden is limited, the implementation of activities
will be based on region, therefore several cities will be merged into one region.
5. Regeneration is a major requirement in every region, so the continuity of Regional PPI will continue to run.
6. The working program at regional and State level includes: discussions activities, seminars and other activities which support student academic, sports, arts, and other activities that do not conflict with norms and ethics of Indonesian people and Swedish community.
Article 12
Closure
- Bylaws is effective as agreed by the members.
- Since this Bylaws is declared valid, any previous Bylaws are no longer valid.
